Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify situations that establish the physician-patient relationship;
- Describe techniques to enhance physician-to-physician communication;
- Discuss appropriate use of electronic communication in the practice of medicine; and
- List risk management strategies to help mitigate liability risks and avoid Texas Medical Board complaints
About the Speaker:
Dan Ballard, J.D., is a partner with Ballard, Simmons, Bell-Moss and Jasper, LLP. He received a B.A. with honors from the University of Texas and a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1983. Ballard has spoken extensively on risk management, medical malpractice defense and Medical Board issues to physicians throughout the state.
