Dr. Garfield Johnson, III

Houston Medical Forum president Dr. Garfield Johnson III is a Michigan native. He is a partner with Texas Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, PA of the Greater Houston Area where he practices as a board certified otorhinolaryngologist. His group is committed to providing their patients with comprehensive care for all diseases and disorders of the head and neck. They also offer the highest level of specialty care for all ear, nose and throat conditions. Dr. Johnson practices at the Memorial City location and will open two, half-day clinics at their Katy Methodist office in August.

 Dr. Johnson received a B.S. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. He then completed a post-baccalaureate, pre-med program and pursued a medical degree at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Upon earning his medical degree in 2000, he completed a surgical internship and ENT residency at the University of Michigan Health System. Dr. Johnson served as administrative chief resident from July 2004 to June 2005.

Dr. Johnson is married to Jakeen W. Johnson, M.D., who practices pediatrics at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Kingwood, TX. They have a two-year-old son, Graham, and a two-year-old schnauzer, Starbuck. The Johnsons are members of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, where he is active in the Boys Rite of Passage Ministry. While at the University of Pennsylvania, he was initiated into the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and served as polemarch in 1992. His hobbies include traveling, running, downhill skiing, cycling, golf and cooking.
